Recycled nylon: new momentum for circular fashion
——Cai Lingzhi,Director of the Sustainable Development Strategy Department of HSCC / General Manager of Fujian Highsun Green Technologies Co. Ltd.
Dr. Cai Lingzhi, who holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) and a Master of Arts (Honors) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge, as well as a Doctorate in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University, delivered a report titled "Recycled Nylon: new momentum for circular fashion."
The report focused on HSCC (Hengshen Hold Group)'s recycled nylon business, highlighting its strategic layout and advantages in the field of circular fashion.
The report pointed out that the global textile industry faces severe circularity challenges, with enormous annual production volumes but extremely low closed-loop recycling rates. Countries have introduced policies, and end brands have committed to increasing the use of recycled materials. Within this context, recycled polyamide accounts for a notably small proportion but holds significant growth potential.
With over four decades of development, HSCC has become a major global CPL producer and possesses a complete nylon 6 industrial chain. The group has developed and patented its recycling technology overseas, with a series of follow-up projects planned. Its technology achieves full-component recycling, producing recycled polyamide that matches the quality of virgin nylon while significantly reducing carbon emissions. Supported by government policies and collaborating with international enterprises, HSCC plans to establish a closed-loop recycling ecosystem for textiles.
