Zheng Shengwei, Manager of CCFGroup, delivers his report of Asian textile and apparel market share change and industrial investment environment analysis

Mr. Zheng delivers his report into three parts.

Firstly, the market shares of textiles and apparels in Asia have been constantly increasing excluding China.

EU, US and Japan¨s import shares of textiles and apparels from China have decreased in terms of quantity in H1, 2019. Chinese apparels take up around 35% of market share in world apparel exports, which has been falling since the peak of 39.21% in 2013. The share of Bangladesh, Vietnam and India improves rapidly. For textiles, China shares about 37% of global total, and India and Vietnam in Asia and Turkey in Europe have been the main forces of growth in recent years.

In conclusion, China's textile and apparel exports have experienced a period of rapid growth, and the market share of apparels has declined faster in recent years. The textile export situation is better than apparel export, and the global layout of the industrial chain is expected to accelerate this process. The demand for textile and apparel in China in the traditional markets of EU, US and Japan has cooled down. The major manufacturing countries in Southeast Asia have taken over some orders, but the volume difference is still large. China's apparel imports keep increasing. The industry is going out and pushing from end-user market to the raw materials.

Secondly, outbound investment type and advantage analysis of textile and apparel enterprises.

Policy orientation and current status of outbound investment. "Vision and Action to Promote the Construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road" and State Council's guidance on promoting international capacity and equipment manufacturing cooperation. Many Chinese textile and apparel manufacturers have invested more overseas, mainly in Southeast Aisa and South Asia. Many enterprises continue global mergers and acquisitions, integration of high quality resources.

Thirdly, outbound investment increases fast, where will China textile industry go?

Textile industry is China¨s core industry, but not pillar industry, enterprises¨ globalization progress (voluntarily or passively) accelerates obviously. Non-cotton fiber has strong competitiveness in China with high proportion of capacity and production, and it is also competitive in international market. Apparel production bases outside China is the best choice of Chinese companies¨ foreign investment and semi-finished products sales in the next stage.

At last, Mr. Zheng analyzes the advantages of textile industry development in some countries and regions in Asia. Vietnam has obvious spinning advantage. Cambodia/Bangladesh/Myanmar, Thailand mainly produce apparels. India has better industrial chain of raw materials, spinning and downstream. Pakistan's raw materials and spinning have advantages.
